If you're a preschool educator and have gone home feeling tired but fulfilled, overwhelmed but hopeful, or wondering if you've done enough, welcome. You're in the right place!
The Gentle Classroom was created as a little corner on the internet for early childhood educators who believe that teaching doesn’t have to be loud, rushed, or perfect to be meaningful.
It can be gentle.
It can be thoughtful.
And it can still be powerful.
Why I Started This Blog
I’ve been an early childhood educator since 2017, and over the years, I’ve experienced many sides of preschool life; joyful breakthroughs, challenging behaviours, long documentation nights, lesson plans that worked beautifully, and some that completely flopped.
Through it all, one thing stayed constant. Children thrive when they feel safe, understood, and supported.
And teachers do too.
I started The Gentle Classroom as an outlet beyond my day job, a space to reflect, share, and support fellow educators with ideas that are:
realistic
simple to implement
grounded in real classroom experience
suitable for busy teachers

My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that:
Children learn best through play, relationships, and trust
Progress matters more than perfection
Small steps deserve to be celebrated
Gentle guidance builds confident learners
Teachers don’t need to do everything, just the right things intentionally
